About our Farm

We are passionate about the Bible, growing food and self-sufficient living! With years of experience in all of the above, we want to help you learn – How to Country. We grow food to share with our local community but along the way we film tutorials, training videos, courses and create other helpful resources to help you grow your own nutrient dense food in a self-sufficient way. Prophecy tells us of a time when we will need to grow our own food and we want everyone to learn these essential skills so that they are not dependent on the grocery store. Our farm is located at 3222 Horsefly Rd. 150 Mile House, British Columbia.

Amazing Discoveries Farm is owned by Amazing Discoveries Ministries International (AD), a Canadian based non-profit that’s aim is to help people find answers to life questions in the field of health, Bible, Bible prophecy, media, and science. AD has become a world-wide ministry with a world-wide reach helping people find meaningful answers that in turn has changed their lives. We offer resources in the form of videos, seminars, training programs, events, articles, publications and more! You can learn more about AD at amazingdiscoveries.org.

About our Farming Practices

We at How to Country Farm believe firmly in your bodies optimal health and wellness and therefore our farming is done 100% chemical and pesticide free. We purchased our land in the late fall of 2017 and the land has never been treated with chemicals of any kind since we have owned it. However we do not stop there! Our produce is fed with natural minerals and nutrients found in their whole state such as alfalfa, rock phosphate and more. Our special added nutrients pack our veggies with taste, flavour, colour and what’s more nutrients to keep your body healthy. Because our produce is so healthy we very rarely fight with disease in our crops, in fact we have never.

We also prefer to use open-pollinated and heirloom seeds rather than hybrids as we find that hybrid produce simply does not taste as good. Aside from one long english cucumber that we grow, our crop is 100% open-pollinated and or heirloom.

We at How to Country promote a plant-based diet however this does not mean that we do not incorporate animal power on our farm! We farm with animals helping us through the chickens scratching and turning the soil in the fall and early spring, the goats eating the brush, the oxen prepping and weeding the beds and all fertilizing the ground! Each animal on our farm has a name and a special place in helping us produce delicious food and maintain the farm. Animals are out of the garden 90-120+ days before harvest.

Interested in Interning?

Each year we accept interns on our farm giving an opportunity to those who are wanting to learn the ropes from start to finish in a season. This truly unique opportunity allows you to learn gardening, animal husbandry, machinery use, draft animal use, how to understand the Bible and Bible prophecy and so much more. On our farm we emphasize character development which allows for an amazing opportunity for growth.
